AACH Membership
Members of the American Academy of Clinical Hypnoanalysts recognize that, as ethical mental health practitioners, their work involves an ongoing pursuit of understanding the human condition, alleviating suffering, promoting personal growth, and fostering successful relationships.
As members of the AACH, they affirm that clinical hypnoanalysis provides a valid model for psychotherapy and are dedicated to advancing physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.
They are committed to continuous professional and personal development, particularly in upholding the highest ethical standards of practice and education.
While valuing independent thought, AACH members are responsible for collaborating with colleagues to support the organization’s growth, advancing the teaching and publication of our methods, and contributing to the leadership of the membership.

Student Membership
For members currently in a master’s degree program or higher in one of the behavioral sciences, including medicine, psychology, social work, counseling, theology, or a related discipline that would allow one to become licensed in one of the mental health care professions.
Prospective members demonstrate high ethical and professional standards and abide by the AACH’s code of ethics.
Have an interest in the modality of hypnoanalysis and the application of clinical hypnosis.
Affiliate Membership
For members currently in a master’s degree program or higher in one of the behavioral sciences, including medicine, psychology, social work, counseling, theology, or a related discipline that would allow one to become licensed in one of the mental health care professions.
Prospective members demonstrate high ethical and professional standards and abide by the AACH’s code of ethics.
Have an interest in the modality of hypnoanalysis and the application of clinical hypnosis.
Associate Membership
Have at least a master’s degree level degree or higher in one of the behavioral sciences, such as medicine, psychology, social work, counseling, theology, or a related discipline that would allow one to become licensed in one of the mental health care professions.
Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards, including abiding by the AACH’s code of ethics.
Have an interest in the modality of hypnoanalysis and the application of clinical hypnosis.
Associate members have entered an AACH course of training that leads to qualifying as a clinical member of the organization.
Clinical Membership
Have at least a master’s degree level degree or higher in one of the behavioral sciences, inclusive of medicine, psychology, social work, counseling, or theology and be duly licensed to treat and/or diagnose mental disorders and/or a related discipline that allows one to practice counseling and/or psychotherapy in one’s state of residence.
Clinical members have pursued a course of training in hypnoanalysis acceptable to the Academy and have limited their practices primarily to clinical hypnoanalysis for two years prior to the date of clinical membership application.
Clinical members devote fifty percent or more of their clinical practice to hypnoanalysis.
Clinical members demonstrate a high ethical and professional standard, clinical ability, and experience, including abiding by the AACH’s code of ethics.
Retired Membership
A retired member will have been an associate or clinical member of the AACH for at least five years.
Retired members have retired from active clinical practice.
Retired members have demonstrated a high ethical and professional standard, clinical ability, and experience, including abiding by the AACH’s code of ethics.
Retired members intend to support the training of qualified mental health professionals and efforts to promote the modality of clinical hypnoanalysis to the best of their abilities by the AACH.
